• Purple Heart Recipient Willie Patton First To Be Honored Here (ulyssesnews.com) — A 102-year-old Purple Heart recipient was recently honored at the annual Quilt Retreat in Ulysses by the newly formed Ulysses Quilts of Valor group, which presented its very first quilt. The story shares Corporal Willie Floyd Patton’s Korean War service, his injury in battle, and the local volunteers who created the patriotic quilt in his honor. 
• Ulysses Man Arrested Following Alleged Assault At Salina Hotel (ulyssesnews.com) — A Ulysses man was arrested after police in Salina investigated an early-morning disturbance at a hotel that left a woman with minor injuries. Officers say they tracked the suspect vehicle with cameras, recovered the woman’s belongings, and booked the Ulysses resident on several charges, including robbery and domestic battery.
