• From dream to disaster (aopa.org) — A long-distance private pilot’s fatal 2020 crash in Virginia began with a departure from Maryland Airport in Indian Head after local pilots urged him to wait out poor weather. The story reconstructs his ambitious 48-state journey, the risky decision to launch into marginal conditions, and the NTSB’s finding that spatial disorientation and overconfidence led to tragedy. 
• Cops Collar Indian Head Driver After Gun Flash on I-97 Near Millersville (hoodline.com) — A 41-year-old man from Indian Head was arrested after another driver reported he pointed a handgun while both traveled near I-97 and Route 32 in Millersville. Police used license-plate data and Anne Arundel’s Real Time Information Center to locate the Prius, recover a loaded handgun, and take the Indian Head resident into custody. Investigators are still determining formal charges.
