Ocean City's boardwalk is opening back up as temperatures rise (wmdt.com) — Ocean City’s boardwalk is reopening as warm weather returns, with shops like North Pole Funnel Cakes already serving crowds and favorites like Rita’s Italian Ice and Trimper Rides set to open within days. Families and longtime visitors say the town feels alive again, even as some businesses still work through staffing challenges for the coming season.
   

2. Ocean City eases rules on cannabis event sponsorships and casino bus ads (wboc.com) — Ocean City has loosened its rules to allow cannabis businesses to sponsor certain 21-and-over events and opened municipal bus advertising to all Maryland casinos, not just Ocean Downs. Town leaders say the changes align with evolving state laws while still protecting Ocean City’s family-friendly image, and major festivals like Sunfest and Springfest remain ineligible for cannabis sponsorships.
   

3. Ward World Championship 2026 (oceancity.com) — Ocean City will host the 2026 Ward World Championship this April, bringing hundreds of wildfowl carvings and top carvers to town for a free-to-the-public weekend show. Residents can browse exhibits, attend award ceremonies, and, with badges or VIP passes, join special receptions and photo sessions at the Performing Arts Center and ballroom.
   

4. William T. Gallagher, Jr. - Worcester County News Bayside Gazette (baysideoc.net) — Ocean City friends and neighbors are mourning William “Billy” Gallagher, Jr., a beloved West Ocean City restaurant worker, family man, and music lover who died March 25 at age 60. Calling hours are April 7 at Burbage Funeral Home, with a funeral mass April 8 at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Ocean City.
