1. Robert Mahoney, 85 – WLKM Radio 95.9 FM (wlkm.com) — Friends and neighbors in Three Rivers are invited to honor longtime church musician and addiction counselor Robert J. Mahoney Jr., who died March 29 at age 85 at The Orchards Skilled Nursing Facility in town. A Celebration of Life is set for Saturday, May 2, at First United Methodist Church on North Main Street, with memorials suggested to several Three Rivers organizations.
   

2. TRPD confirms continued use of Flock surveillance technology, says city added seventh camera in 2025 (watershedvoice.com) — Three Rivers residents should know that local police are continuing to use Flock license plate reader cameras, with the city now funding seven devices at about $21,000 a year. Department leaders say the system is tightly controlled and focused on serious crimes, while national civil liberties groups warn similar technology elsewhere has expanded into broader surveillance and data sharing.
   

3. Three Rivers invites community to cemetery cleanup after tornado (woodtv.com) — Three Rivers officials are asking residents to help restore Riverside Cemetery, which lost around 80 trees when an EF2 tornado hit the city on March 6. A community cleanup is set for April 9 from 1 to 5 p.m., with volunteers invited to drop in anytime to rake debris and clear branches as the city works to bring back this popular walking spot.
   

4. Missing five-year-old dies after being found unconscious in stream (wkzo.com) — A five-year-old boy from Colon died after being found unconscious in a stream between Palmer and Sturgeon lakes and then taken to Three Rivers Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Multiple area agencies, including St. Joseph County responders and nearby police departments, assisted in the search and investigation, which remains ongoing.
   

5. Whitmer seeks federal aid after deadly southwest Michigan tornadoes (kentucky.com) — Three Rivers is among the southwest Michigan communities hit hard by the March 6 tornadoes, and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is asking the president to declare a major disaster so residents can qualify for federal repair and housing aid. St. Joseph, Branch, and Cass counties together saw dozens of homes destroyed or severely damaged, and officials say the true impact may be even greater.
