Concord Police Investigating Body Found In The Woods On Horseshoe Island
A man walking a dog in an area frequented by homeless campers spotted a man who was partially covered in snow near the railroad tracks.
CONCORD, NH — Concord police are on Horseshoe Island near the railroad tracks investigating a man who was found dead on Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area of the peninsula.
Just before 2:15 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to an area near Horseshoe Pond for a report of a dead body found. A caller told police they were walking their dog in the area when they found a man partially covered by snow. The man appeared to have passed.
The first-arriving officer met with the calling party and ventured onto Horseshoe Island along the railroad tracks to the area where the body was located. The officer confirmed the man was code gray and requested firefighters and a staff sergeant.

Fire and rescue teams arrived and confirmed the man was dead around 2:30 p.m. Other police also arrived to investigate.
A medical examiner arrived at the scene around 4 p.m.

The man, who appeared to be elderly, had been frozen for a substantial amount of time.
This is the second body found dead in the last 24 hours.
Blake Erickson was found dead underneath the Water Street Bridge on Monday afternoon.
