HOBOKEN, NJ — Besides unique costumes and hilarious decor on Friday night, Hoboken Halloween had something else — old-school rappers.

Members of The Sugarhill Gang, whose 1979 song "Rapper's Delight" is considered one of the first mainstream rap hits, stopped by to perform in a yard on 13th Street.

Master Gee and Hen Dogg performed several hip-hop songs including their most famous.

The homeowner said that the pair were a "friend of friends." Last year, he hosted a performance by"Naughty By Nature's" Treach in the same space.

The police said the concert had to shut down around 8 p.m. They shut down trick-or-treating on the crowded uptown blocks at the same time.
