JERSEY CITY, NJ — The owners of an iconic diner on Jersey City's west side announced Friday night that the establishment will close.

"It is with extreme sadness we announce that the Miss America Diner will be closing her doors on Monday," they noted in a message. "We will be open this Saturday and Sunday for business as usual. We wish to thank our hardworking staff for their dedication and especially to our loyal customers who kept us going."

They signed it, "With our deepest and sincerest appreciation, Stella, George, John 'Yankee' and our Heavenly Angel Tony!"

"We should have also added that the community will continue to be served excellent, freshly prepared food by our other-side of West Side neighbor Salumeria Ercolano, who will be relocating to the Miss America space!" they wrote. "No condos coming, just great food!"

For those who want to say goodbye over the weekend, the diner is located at 322 West Side Ave., a three-block walk from the West Side Avenue light rail stop.
