MilkShake Factory To Open First NJ Location In Downtown Jersey City: See When

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Downtown Jersey City's pedestrian avenue is getting a new shake shop.

Milk Shake Factory, part of a chain, will open by the end of fall, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The shop said they specialize in "handspun milkshakes and small batch, premium chocolates."

The company said they are expanding across the country.

“New Jersey is such a vibrant, diverse state, and we’re excited to introduce our signature shakes and chocolates here,” said company CEO Dana Edwards Manatos.

She added, “Launching in Downtown Jersey City is an exciting way to introduce MilkShake Factory to New Jersey. The community’s energy, diversity, and food culture make it the perfect place to begin our journey here.”

Founded over 100 years ago as a small chocolate shop in Pittsburgh, MilkShake Factory has expanded across the country.

Unique varieties include Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores.

The Jersey City shop will open at 177 Newark Ave., walkable from the Grove Street PATH station.

The company said the shop will also open these locations by early 2026:

• 187 Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park
• 189 West Main St. Somerville
