Person Struck By PATH Train In Jersey City, Port Authority Says

PATH train service was delayed Tuesday after a person was struck in Jersey City, transit officials said.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A person was struck by a PATH train in Jersey City on Tuesday morning, a Port Authority spokesperson said.

The victim was struck just after 10:30 a.m. at the Journal Square station, said spokesperson Lenis Valens. An update on the person's condition was not available.

Service was briefly suspended, but has resumed with some delays, Valens said around 3 p.m.

He said that NJ Transit is cross-honoring PATH tickets at the Newark PATH station.

The agency posted this message on social media at 10:42 a.m.: "NWK-WTC, JSQ-33 suspended. HOB-33, HOB-WTC operating. PAPD responding to a reported incident at JSQ."
