‘Stop For Nikhil’ In West Orange: Traffic Safety Event Returning For 2025

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Hundreds of people are expected to gather for the 15th annual “STOP For Nikhil Run/Walk/Bike Ride” in West Orange to honor people who have lost their lives in traffic crashes – and raise awareness about the need for safer streets.

Hosted by the Nikhil Badlani Foundation, the event has become a statewide call to action for traffic safety, bringing together families, advocates, students, and policymakers.

The 2025 event will take place at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21 at West Orange High School (Suriano Stadium), 51 Conforti Avenue. Learn more here.

“All proceeds from the event will go towards raising traffic safety awareness and nurturing the musical and academic talents in our children,” organizers said.

Online registration closes at midnight on Friday, Sept. 19. Same-day registration will open at 7:30 a.m. Register or donate at www.stopfornikhil.org

The Nikhil Badlani Foundation was established in July 2011 to honor the memory of 11-year-old Nikhil Badlani, who was killed in a car crash on June 11, 2011 when a driver ran a stop sign.
