On Sept. 20, West Orange Mayor Susan McCartney received the NIA Purpose Partnership Exemplary Award, presented by the Rev. Alphonsus Platt, pastor of NIA Fellowship Baptist Church.
The presentation took place during the church’s Consecration Weekend, celebrated this past Saturday and Sunday.

NIA Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 174 South Valley Road in West Orange, is in its 11th year of ministry. The historic building, erected in 1928, is on its way toward a momentous occasion in 2028, when the current congregation will celebrate the church building’s 100th anniversary.
