West Orange Tweaks Jitney Bus Route, Temporarily Removes Whole Foods Stop

Here's what to know about the new changes.

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange is tweaking a route schedule for its commuter jitney bus, including temporarily removing the stop at Whole Foods.

Township officials recently shared details about the changes to the Route 6 bus, which started on Monday (all other routes will remain the same).

The changes include:

  • The Whole Foods stop will be temporarily removed
  • The last morning pick-up will now be Blackburne Terrace
  • The third stop to Brick Church is being eliminated and will instead go to Orange Station, as the train stops at both locations
  • There will be a slight time adjustment to the fourth run on Route 6 to allow for an early drop-off for the 8:12 a.m. train
  • Should the Halstead stop be closed due to construction, service will continue to the North Arlington Avenue stairs at Brick Church

West Orange provides free jitney service for local residents to three train stations: Orange, South Orange, and Brick Church. The jitney runs in the mornings from 6 to 9 a.m., and in the evenings from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
