Driver Sought In Hit-And-Run Crash That Hurt Firefighter In Medford: Police

The man, 62, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.

MEDFORD, NY — A firefighter was struck in a hit-and-run crash in Medford on Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The man, 62, was directing traffic for the Medford Fire Department on Route 112, near Private Road, when he was struck on the leg by a vehicle that took off without stopping to see if he was okay, according to police.

He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

It happened at around 12:15 p.m.
