Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Fire In Kitchen Wall At Hamptons Eatery
The fire broke out early Friday in Southampton, officials say.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A fire broke out at a Southampton Village eatery early Friday, officials said.
According to Chris Brenner, public information officer with the Southampton Fire Department, a call came in at 12:24 a.m. about a structure fire at Namiro Sushi on Jobs Lane. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke conditions at the eatery, Brenner said.
No injuries were reported, Brenner said.

Crews entered the building and, after searching, they found fire in a wall in the kitchen area, which they quickly knocked down before searching for any extension, Brenner said.
Southampton Fire Department Chief Polis Walker was in charge of the scene.

Mutual aid was requested from the Hampton Bays Fire Department, for a rapid intervention team and a ladder truck; the North Sea Fire Department provided a truck and manpower; and the Bridgehampton Fire Department was standing by to cover any alarms in the Southampton Fire District, Brenner said. The Southampton Fire Department and Hampton Bays Fire Department utilized their ladder trucks, he said.
The Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance was at the scene for firefighter assessment. Suffolk County fire coordinators were at the scene to assist the Southampton Fire Department chiefs.
Crews were at the scene for about two hours, Brenner said.
