ā¢ Route 17 Advocate Appears Before Wawarsing Board (shawangunkjournal.com) ā A Route 17 opposition advocate recently briefed the Wawarsing town board on renewed plans to widen the highway between Harriman and Monticello, warning the project is only paused, not dead. She and allied groups argue the $1.4 billion should instead repair existing roads and expand transit, and say a draft environmental impact statement is expected in October that Wawarsing residents should watch closely.
