• Sneads Ferry teen named Marine Corps Military Child of the Year (wcti12.com) — An 18-year-old from Sneads Ferry, Hannah Kirksey, has been named Operation Homefront’s 2026 Military Child of the Year representing the Marine Corps, bringing national recognition to the community. After growing up with a father deployed 16 times and managing her own dyslexia, she’ll be honored at an April gala in Arlington, Virginia, and receive a $10,000 award, laptop, and other gifts.
