• Grove City Council OKs 42-acre park with MTB trails, amphitheater (fourstateshomepage.com) — Grove’s city council has approved a grant application to help fund a new 42-acre park with six miles of trails and a small amphitheater off Center Street, eventually linking to Wolf Creek and Honey Creek parks. The $6 million, bike-friendly project will be built in phases as funding allows, and residents and police leaders say it will boost health, safety, and tourism around Grand Lake. 
• Grove educator Donna Deason receives Shining Star award (fourstateshomepage.com) — Longtime Grove middle school science teacher Donna Deason has been named this year’s Shining Star by the Grove Educational Foundation for Excellence, recognizing decades of standout teaching and student success. At the Shangri-La banquet, GEFFE also raised nearly $200,000 for Grove school grants, continuing a tradition that has funneled close to $2 million into local classrooms since 1997.
