• Missing Hopewell 18-year-old found dead in Caroline, death linked to ‘deeply disturbing' homicide case (wric.com) — Hopewell readers should know that 18-year-old Jayden Michael McComber of Hopewell, reported missing under suspicious circumstances, has been found dead in a Caroline County pond. Investigators believe his killing is connected to another recent homicide but say the incidents do not appear random as they work to identify suspects and the other victim.
   

• Dayton police chief notifies city of intention to leave department, city leaders confirm (whio.com) — Hopewell residents may recognize former local police chief Kamran Afzal, who left Hopewell in 2021 to lead the Dayton, Ohio department and has now notified that city he plans to resign for another policing job. Dayton officials are preparing a search for his replacement while his new role is finalized.
