Behind the new caf&eacute; are local entrepreneurs Paul, Vishal, and Simmi Bhardwaj, and Ted Gement. The team is part of Golden Oil Company, a Midwest distributor of petroleum products and the developer of the new Somers travel center. In addition to their work in fuel distribution, the group has extensive experience in the quick-service restaurant space, owning franchises of top brands including Subway, Dairy Queen, and Cinnabon. When planning the new travel center, Paul and Ted suggested bringing Bad Ass Coffee to the location, recognizing that there was nothing quite like it in the area and tapping into everyone&rsquo;s shared love for coffee.

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989 with the dream of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee with customers everywhere.
