• GBI Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Appling County, GA (einpresswire.com) — A Hazlehurst Police Department officer joined a Jeff Davis County deputy in pursuing a car on U.S. 341 that was reportedly tied to a kidnapping, ending in an officer-involved shooting in neighboring Appling County. The driver was shot by a state trooper after allegedly refusing commands and reaching toward his waistband, and the kidnapping victim was safely recovered. State investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
