• Duo made $1.7M selling over 6 million fake USPS stamps, feds allege (miamiherald.com) — A Hoschton resident is at the center of a federal case accusing two men of selling more than 6 million counterfeit USPS stamps and allegedly profiting about $1.7 million. Prosecutors say the Georgia-based operation bought fake stamps from China, resold them as Forever stamps, and moved the proceeds through multiple bank accounts. Both defendants now face up to 20 years in federal prison.

• Strickland signs with Kennesaw State (lakeoconeenews.us) — A rising Kennesaw State pitcher has been sharpening his skills at the Full Count training facility in Hoschton while preparing for his first collegiate baseball season. After leading Morgan County to a state title and reconsidering his football commitment, he chose to focus on Division I baseball. His summer work in Hoschton and with a travel team is helping him adjust to tougher college-level hitters.
