Officials say dunes along key areas like Second Street are already severely worn, affecting both storm protection and tourism, while record sea turtle nesting underscores the environmental stakes.
   

• Tybee Island expands Beach'Able program with new beach walkers (wsav.com) — Tybee Island is rolling out six new beach walkers this weekend to make its shoreline easier to enjoy for people with mobility challenges. Available for free near the pier, the walkers expand the city’s Beach’Able Tybee program, which already offers adaptive beach wheelchairs. City officials say the added equipment is helping families choose Tybee as an accessible vacation spot.
   

• Missing a python? Tybee Police searching for owner (wjcl.com) — Tybee Island police are trying to reunite a healthy ball python, nicknamed “Buttercup,” with its owner after officers captured it under a bench at Tybrisa. The snake startled a pair of visitors but was safely recovered by the night shift team. Anyone who recognizes the pet is asked to contact the Tybee Island Police Department.
