• Burst pipe floods Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, forcing closure of services (wtoc.com) — A burst main water pipe at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia flooded the first floor and temporarily shut down surgery, labor and delivery, and radiology services. The ER and cancer center remain open, but some patients are being redirected to other hospitals while more than 60 contractors repair damage. Hospital leaders expect radiology and labor and delivery to reopen this weekend and the operating room early next week.

• GBI agents investigating 2 deaths in Vidalia (wsav.com) — Two young people were found shot to death in a Vidalia home Thursday evening, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now leading the case. Vidalia Police responded to reports of shots fired on Easter Drive and discovered the victims, ages 20 and 17. Investigators are asking anyone in Vidalia with information or tips to contact the GBI or use their anonymous tip lines.
