• Grant program brings Virginia students to historic sites (wfxrtv.com) — Students at Bland Elementary School in Bland are among more than 1,300 Virginia kids whose field trips to historic battlefields and museums are being funded by the American Battlefield Trust’s History Field Trip Grant Program. The competitive microgrants help K–12 classes visit Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War sites across the Commonwealth, giving local students hands-on experiences with the state’s deep history.
