• Emporia men ID'ed as VDOT contractors shot to death (progress-index.com) — Two Emporia men working as VDOT contractors were fatally shot Friday morning at a Route 1/Route 288 work site in Chesterfield County, in what state police describe as a domestic-related incident. The suspect remains at large as investigators continue their work, and officials have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
