• Young women step out of their comfort zones at FIAT vocations camp (catholicherald.com) — A Holy Trinity Church parishioner from Gainesville joined dozens of teen girls at the diocesan FIAT vocations camp, where they explored prayer, discernment, and religious life. Campers heard talks from sisters and priests, spent time in adoration, and bonded through small groups, sports, and crafts. The Gainesville teen says the experience deepened her personal prayer and sense of faith community beyond her family’s regular rosary.
   

• Cundiff Earns Mendenhall Award in 2026 GCSAA Scholars Competition (golfdaily.com subscription) — A national golf course management scholarship program is spotlighting local ties, including experience at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville and a Merit Award recipient from Gainesville. North Carolina State student Jack Cundiff earned the top Mendenhall Award, while Penn State student Blake Buchanan of Gainesville received a $500 Merit Award. The competition supports students preparing for turf and golf course careers across the country.
