If you're looking for new zombie graveyards, body parts, floating ghosts and devil's playgrounds to explore for Halloween, you've come to the right place. Patch has assembled its annual scary yard tour for 2025, created by some of Chicagoland’s most imaginative and demented exterior decorators.

Given the scary yard tour’s past history of breaking the internet, we have organized the 2025 list by county. So click on the link for the list of scary yards near your house, or go crazy and visit them all.
GET ON THE LIST: We LOVE reader submissions, so we'll be updating the list every FRIDAY leading up to Halloween. So send in your pictures and tell us why your yard haunt is worth a drive-by to lorraine.swanson@patch.com.

The Haunted Cemetery, 2308 College Road, Downers Grove – The Duncan family’s whimsical haunted cemetery and adorable pumpkin patch are up and running. The spook witches are all out every night for a fun fright. There’s a pirate ship with tentacles that are reaching for the captain and first mate, with octopuses in the yard. The witches' lair has a place for broom parking and victims bubling in a cauldron. The cemetery has a funeral pyre that burns while the display is on. Lit 5 to 9 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Elmhurst

Live Undead On Lexington, 15w671 Lexington St., Elmhurst – The dead resist their passage into the afterlife. Spirits rise from their crypts and skeletons crawl from the ground near bleeding headstones. Oh, and don’t forget the rotten pumpkin patch. Mike Konieczka’s haunt features static, pneumatic and animatronic props. Most props are either hand made or store bought and modified. The display is a family-friendly cemetery with only a few props that might scare young children. Lights are on 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The Skeleton’s Lair, 4016 Champion Road, Naperville – We always love yard haunts that come with a poem:

Bones in the graveyard where reapers stand guard,
They try to escape, but it’s too hard.
Groans and moans, no matter how loud they shout,
The skeletons are dying to get out.
Step carefully through, but beware the stare—
You're not alone in the Skeleton’s Lair.

Ashley Lopez’s den of skeletons is up and ready for visitors.
