Skippack Seeks New Twp. Supervisor After Child Sex Assault Charges

The resignation of Nick Fountain amid charges he sexually assaulted child has left an opening on the board.

SKIPPACK TOWNSHIP, PA — The Skippack Township Board of Supervisors is seeking candidates to fill a vacant seat after longtime supervisor Nick Fountain resigned amid charges he sexually abused a child.

The board is now accepting letters of interest and resumes from potential candidates.

In order to be considered for the open seat, candidates must be registered voters in Skippack, and they must have resided in the township for at least one year.

Application materials can be dropped off at the Township Administration Building on 4089 Heckler Road. They can also be emailed to info@skippacktownship.org.

The deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 PM.

Fountain, 38, had been a board member in Skippack for 12 years. He was the Republican candidate for state senate in the 24th district in 2022.

Police said Fountain, who also owned two local daycares in the area, was in a "caregiving role" with his victim. Assaults occurred over a period of years, from the time the child was 9 until 16.

The Skippack board has five members serving six-year elected terms.
