Southwest Airlines Throws An Unforgettable Wedding When Couple Can't Get To Vegas On Time
Pam and Jeremy's plan for a spur-of-the-moment wedding in Las Vegas fell through. The spur-of-the-moment wedding on Southwest was better.

DALLAS, TX — It all started out as a joke for a couple named Pam and Jeremy. Wouldn’t it cool, they said, or words to that effect, to hop on a flight to Las Vegas and get hitched?
Their love was no joke, though.
The more they thought about it, a Las Vegas wedding had a lot of appeal, according to a social media post from Southwest Airlines. They booked a Las Vegas wedding chapel for Sunday night, and a flight with a competing airline to get them there.

Airlines, though.
In the pandemic age of travel, getting from point A to point B to point C isn’t always simple. Their flight from Oklahoma City to Dallas-Fort Worth arrived on time, though. So far, it was a grand wedding day.

Jinx.
The connecting flight to Vegas was canceled. How else could they get there? Fortunately for Pam and Jeremy, another passenger, Chris, overheard them hashing out what to do.
Chris is an ordained minister.
He offered to marry the couple himself. They scoured airline flight schedules, found three seats remaining on a Southwest flight departing Dallas Love Field for Vegas in short order and scooped up the reservations, and the three made a hurried trip across town.
Then, another wedding joke.
Pam wore a long white wedding dress, and Jeremy wore a stylish black suit. The pilot, identified as Capt. Gil in the airline's post, couldn’t help but notice. Pam had a good laugh, explaining how they came to be on the Southwest flight, and joking that she and Jeremy “should just get married on the flight,” the post said.
“Let’s do it!” the couple heard for the second time in a week, according to the post.
In the charming Southwest way — the airline based out of Love Field (naturally) consistently gets warm fuzzy reviews from its customers — the crew pulled off a one-of-a-kind wedding.
The minister’s ceremonial sash was a ribbon of snack mix packages made fancier with toilet paper streamers. Another passenger passed around an old spiral notebook for others on board to sign and share good wishes. A professional photographer on the flight lent her talent. A flight attendant named Julie was the maid of honor.
Everyone seemed to have one heck of a good time.
“We can’t wait to welcome you back onboard the love airline,” the post ended.
