Unlawful Entry At Closed Breezeway Motel Leads To Arrest: Police

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a 42-year-old Fairfax man on Jan. 30 after unlawfully entering a motel in the city, according to the weekly crime report.

Officers responded around 3:50 p.m., to the Breezeway Motel located at 10829 Fairfax Blvd. for the report of a man entering one of the motel's rooms, according to police. The officers found Jimmy Navarro inside one of the rooms of the motel, which is permanently closed in anticipation of future redevelopment.

Police transported Navarro to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where they charged him with unlawful entry and drunk in public. He was then held on a $2,000 unsecured bond.

At its March 8, 2022 meeting, the Fairfax City Council approved a Pulte Homes' rezoning application and certificate of appropriateness for the redevelopment of the Breezeway Motel and adjacent properties on Cedar Avenue, Oak Street, and Walnut Street. Pulte plans to build 40 townhouses and 20 stacked condo units with garage and a commercial building 8,000 to 10,010 square feet in size.
