ā¢ Supervisors to advertise proposed FY27 School budget (brunswicktimes-gazette.com) ā Lawrenceville residents will soon have a chance to weigh in on a proposed FY27 school budget that seeks about $2.8 million more in local funding, with a public hearing set for April 15 at the Brunswick County Government Building on North Main Street. School and county leaders discussed aging buses, low teacher pay, and priorities like safety, student support, CTE, and STEM as they work through tight revenues and tough funding choices.

ā¢ Former Augusta County prison site under contract for sale, highlighting scale of land owned by DOC (wvtf.org) ā Lawrencevilleās former Brunswick Correctional Center remains in limbo as state officials weigh what to do with surplus prison properties, even while the Augusta Correctional Center moves toward a sale. Local leaders have pushed to reuse the Lawrenceville site for economic development, but legislative efforts stalled and the land is still partly used by corrections programs and agribusiness, delaying any major redevelopment.
