Patch's Best 2025 Halloween Yard Haunts: Will, Kendall, Grundy Counties
Patch has rounded up the best residential Halloween yard haunts submitted by readers in Will and Kendall counties.

If you're looking for new zombie graveyards, body parts, floating ghosts and devil's playgrounds to explore for Halloween, you've come to the right place. Patch has assembled its annual scary yard tour for 2025, created by some of Chicagoland’s most imaginative and demented exterior decorators.
Given the scary yard tour’s past history of breaking the internet, we have organized the 2025 list by county. So click on the link for the list of scary yards near your house, or go crazy and visit them all.

KENDALL COUNTY
Oswego
Midnight on Manchester, 404 Manchester Drive, Oswego – Amber Stults’ Washington Irving-inspired Sleepy Hollow Cemetery-themed haunt features a headless horseman, Ichabod Crane and all their ghoulish friends. The yard is lit from 7:30 p.m. to midnight until the weekend after Halloween. A walk-thru is available on weekends and especially on Halloween for trick-or-treaters. Amber has added some new pieces. (Don’t know who Washington Irving or Ichabod Crane are? Look it up!)

WILL COUNTY
Bolingbrook
637 Blackhawk Lane, Bolingbrook – Sean Wolf Porter put up 27 bins and nine animatronics, and he’s still adding more stuff. We love Sean’s Ozzy Osbourne tribute. This haunt needs a name.

1810 Pampas St., Bolingbrook – Matt Glowiak is still fine-tuning his setup. He hopes to do a huge Halloween party. Matt assures us you can't miss it.

Frankfort
Scare At Joe's, 7538 W. Benton Drive, Frankfort Square – Mike and Joe Wlodarek’s family friendly haunt has been a fixture in Frankfort Square for 11 years. There are regulars who travel over an hour every year to come and visit.”It started 11 yrs ago when our son (Joe) wanted to make the display bigger,” Mike said. “Just turning 22, Joe has completed his mission, our display is simply amazing.” Every year, neighbors hold a kids scavenger hunt with five other homes in the square.

7429 W. Hawthorne Lane, Frankfort – Julia Alber says her display is a labor of love for her family, including a mix of inflatables, props and animatronics, like a 6-foot-tall mounted spider, and a towering phantom. Be prepared for the Chuckie, Sam and Michael Myers jump scares. Lights up 5 to 10 p.m. daily through Nov. 1. Animatronics will not be running if there is bad/rainy weather.

Red Death Manor, 23054 Lakeview Estates Blvd., Frankfort – It certainly is red! Nicholas Signore has made most of the vomiting zombies, swinging ghouls and burning spirits taking over his yard. Lights up from sundown to 1 a.m., through Nov. 2.

Fear on Acorn Ridge, Frankfort – Anthony Chiaro and Sarah DeAngelis’s display may look innocent by days, but at night all those monsters come alive, with fog and lights. They’ve added a walk-thru this year.

Ghouls on Glasgow, 19821 S. Glasgow, Frankfort — Kyle Showalter started with a single Michael Myers prop and his lawn o’ ghouls has escalated ever since. This yard haunt attracts thousands of people every Halloween season, who come to gaze upon the three dozen or more eye-popping props. Warning: Sometimes Showalter’s neighbors like to dress up like monsters and terrorize the looky-loos. The Showalters are accepting donations for the Illinois Chapter of the TEARS Foundation. The yard is lit daily from 6 to 10 p.m. daily. Read the story on Patch.

Harvest Haunt, 7901 Harvest Drive, Frankfort – Nothing says Halloween quite like corn and animatronics. The yard is lit from dusk to 10 p.m. through Oct. 31. is a cemetery and corn field display with animatronics ( more on weekend) that will start on Oct first and run through Halloween. Starts at dusk until around 10 at night. Will be handing out standard candy on Halloween.

331 Michigan Road, Frankfort – Michelle Miritello submits her skeleton and gargoyle-bedecked yard.
Haunts On Jon-Kill Lane, 20248 S Jonquil Lane, Frankfort – The McMahon family has been decorating their yard, expanding their collection each year. People are welcome to roam through their side yards. The haunt features Our family has been doing this for about seven years and the collection gets larger each year, featuring dozens of terrifying animatronics to give a jump scare, a frightening circus and creepy cemetery. “We really enjoy doing this and really hope more come out to see us.”

Joliet
Terror on Timberlake, 2703 Timberlake Drive, Joliet – Halloween is 17-year-old Justin Kenny’s passion. His mom, Shannah, tells us that her son is “Halloween 365 days a year!” Halloween decor is Justin’s most requested gift for birthdays and Christmas. He even took a part-time seasonal job at Spirit Halloween. Justin’s haunt has grown to 35 animated props, with creepy clowns occupying one side of the yard, and a graveyard full of graveyards on the other side that will make you scream. New stuff gets added every week.
Count Kuhajda's Haunted Haus, 1112 Nicolson St., Joliet — Mark and Nancy Kuhajda have been spooking their block for over 30 years (now we're hungry for a bowl of Count Chocula) and receive over 1,000 visitors each Halloween season. This elegant front- and backyard haunt offers a kid friendly, amusing walkthrough. There are no actors to terrify your kids. The front yard features mostly traditional Halloween fare. Belly up to the demon bar, where a deceased bartender introduces visitors to the haunt. The backyard features the house band the Dead Beats. The cemetery and props are based on Universal Studios and sci-fi related characters. All figures and tombstones are handmade. The Kuhajdas will once again be accepting donations for American Veterans Service Dog Academy, a great organization that trains rescue dogs as companions and service dogs for veterans. Haunt hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday; 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; and 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31.

2611 Oak Ridge Lane, Joliet – Shannon Capp’s hubby has been decorating for years and says he has built quite the collection. New this year in celebration of the 50th anniversary of “Jaws” featuring Quint in the boat chased by a 10-foot-long great white shark. There’s a scary clown circus section, a horror movie character section, a 10-foot-tall big bad world and three dead pigs and so much more.

1503 N Prairie Ave, Joliet – This sinister green-lit yard is full of animatronics that offer plenty of scares.

Dreadful Hollows, 109 brink Dr, Joliet – Ruthie will be passing out candy to visitors throughout the month of October. Yard is lit from 8 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, until midnight Friday and Saturday. It’s pretty dreadful.

Lockport
Sinister Acres, 16532 Split Rail Drive, Lockport — The Jezierski family’s graveyard haunt has been tweaked and ready to be gawked at. Joe Jezierski’s kids encouraged their parents to submit their scary yard Lights turn on at about 630 till 11 p.m. daily. People are asked not to walk through the yard due to cords and cables holding things down. They don’t have candy picked out yet for the trick-or-treaters, but previous years have been Pokémon cards and full size candy bars.

Manhattan
525 Thelma St, Manhattan — Amber Ellison went all out and got two new ground-breaker s for her 12-foot-tall skeleton.

Monee
MONEE MANOR, 24066 S. CICERO AVE., MONEE – Take a drive down Cicero Avenue to where the streetlights end and the dark country takes over. This is the Berryhill family's twelfth year of doing their country yard haunt. Creepy animatronic and static ghosts await you, mostly homemade. Come see the massive graveyard display with 10-foot pillars, skeleton stock chambers and basement zombies. Watch out for the GIANT rooftop spider and the elaborate toxic waste dump. The neighbors also do a great display. There's plenty of shoulder area to park and walk along the front of the property to get a closer look. Dusk to midnight through Nov. 2. Monee Manor - Halloween Yard Display.
Mokena
Byrne in Hell, 12242 W. Warren Drive, Mokena – Cool yard haunt with menacing scarecrows and other creatures you don’t want to run into in a cornfield.

New Lenox
Restless Grounds, 828 Melrose St., New Lenox – This is Aceituno Mason’s first time on the list. His simple yard haunt is all handmade, with unique monsters and some original ideas. For Halloween, he’ll be giving out KitKats, Hersheys, Reeses and juice boxes. Lights go on at 6:30 and end at 10:30 p.m.

Devils of Ivywild, 3308 Ivywild Lane, New Lenox – We love Sherri Domenico’s sick display of Beezlebubs. Lights up 7 to 10 p.m. daily.

Muirfield Manor Haunted House, 1795 Muirfield Drive, New Lenox – Tony Diaferia’s lavish display is something to behold.
Plainfield
Fear on Fairfield, 16324 Fairfield Drive, Plainfield — A small home haunt in comparison to other local haunts, but we love cozy scary yards. It’s obvious from Michelle Banasiak’s submission that a lot of time and care was put into her display. Not too spooky, a few small jump scares. Fog on weekdays. Open daily at 6:30 to 10 p.m.’ weekends until 11:30 p.m., “or when I remember to turn the lights off,” Michelle says.

14517 Meadow Lane, Plainfield – Steve Simpson says most of his Halloween decorations are up and operational for evening walkthroughs. For the courageous, there is a photo op spot in the front yard to sit for a picture. That's Steve about to get his head bashed in.

23928 W. Renwick Road, Plainfield – The Woodwards will be passing out king-sized candy bars to go with that giant pumpkin. Lights on 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Pumpkin Riot, 1702 Whispering Oaks Drive, Plainfield – Brian and Kate Hunter have changed up their display to give people the greatest experience possible. ‘Tis the season of the Pumpkin Witch. The display also features an evil pumpkin patch infested with scorched witches and giant pumpkin creatures who overlook the whole display. They’ve added a lot this year, including over 300 cornstalks, new animatronics and static props! The Hunters will be handing out an assortment of candy and treats this Halloween.

Romeoviile
724 Union Ave., Romeoville – Fred Linklater’s annual haunted yard is now open for gawking. Displays will be up from 6 to 10 p.m. through Halloween.
Shorewod
21538 S Nadia Drive, Shorewood (Unincorporated Joliet) – Add this house to your must-see spooky Halloween houses. Jennifer Collins has submitted her family’s display of 12-foot-tall creatures, including witches, skeletons, werewolves, and much more. Dramatic lighting, smoke machines, and a variety of eerie effects create an unforgettable Halloween experience for visitors of all ages.

Crypt of Kipling Estates, 1109 Butterfield Circle W, Shorewood – The skeletons have broken out of their coffins and are taking over this family-friendly Halloween haunt, submitted by Amber W. The yard features a classic haunted graveyard with both static and animated props, two 12-footers, and all your favorite nightmare before Christmas characters. Don’t forget to take a picture at one of the three photo-op stations. The haunt is collecting donations for triple negative breast cancer research via QR code as the homeowner is currently battling breast cancer.
