PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Several passerby leapt into action in Phoenixville over the weekend when they saw a teenage boy having a seizure.

The trio, praised as "Good Samaritans" by the teen's mother, included an off duty firefighter, a nurse, and a third young woman who called 911 and spoke calmly and clearly with the operator.

"THANK YOU for allowing your Saturday morning routine to be interrupted," the boy's mother, Jenessa Broderick, shared in a heartfelt social media post. "I believe God ordered all our steps, from the spot I pulled over to the timing of each of you crossing our path. I’m certain the outcome would have been very different if even 1 of you chose to keep walking."

Broderick was taking her son Weston to the barber, to get a haircut before his homecoming dance, when the incident occurred around 9:30 a.m.

She said that her son began to seize up and soon fell unconscious in the front seat of her Jeep. Broderick panicked and said she was screaming in the street, near Sedona Taphouse on Bridge Street, when the strangers came to her rescue.

The young woman passing by called 911 instantly, while another woman, who happened to be a nurse, rushed in to monitor the boy's pulse.

Another passerby, an off duty firefighter, helped the nurse by opening up the rear passenger door and holding the teen up straight.

Broderick said they were the "longest, worst moments" of her life, and the trio were there for her.

Her son was rushed to the emergency room, where they treated him for the seizure and eventually discharged him later in the day.

"The world is still full of selfless people," she said.
