• Emergency Squad Employee Charged After A Tortuous Trail (thecreweburkevillejournal.com) — Burkeville residents may have noticed smoke recently, with county dispatch logging multiple calls from the Holly Farm Road and West Courthouse/Old School House Road areas tied to possible burning at the local military base. In a separate Nottoway incident, a Nottoway Emergency Squad employee from Blackstone was charged with public intoxication after late-night visits to an ex-girlfriend’s home and alleged use of a squad vehicle.
