• Emergency Squad Employee Charged After A Tortuous Trail (thecreweburkevillejournal.com) — Crewe-area residents were among those reporting smoke sightings to Nottoway County dispatch, including a call from the Indian Oak Road area. Officials say the smoke may have come from a burn at the local military base. In a separate incident, a Nottoway County Emergency Squad employee was charged with public intoxication after deputies responded twice to a domestic disturbance call.
