FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Two men are facing assault on a law enforcement officer charges in connection to two separate incidents that occured Friday night in the City of Fairfax, according to reports.

In the first case, officers were called around 6:51 p.m. to investigate the report of a larceny at the Virginia ABC store at 10308 Willard Way.

“The reporting party stated that an unknown male entered the business, took alcohol, and left the business without rendering payment," according to the incident report. “Officers located the subject nearby. The subject fled from officers but was ultimately caught.”

During the arrest, the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Orlen Reyes Gonzalez of an undetermined address, assaulted an officer, who sustained a minor injury, according to police.

Reyes Gonzalez was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with petit larceny, assault on law enforcement, and obstruction of justice, according to the report. He was then held on a secure bond.

Around 8:27 p.m. on that same night, officers responded for the report of someone acting disorderly inside a parking garage in the 9500 block of Fairfax Boulevard.

After locating the suspect nearby, the officers determined that he was under the influence of alcohol, according to police. As they arrested the suspect, who was identified as 37-year-old Adel Alkhamisy of Fairfax, he assaulted an officer, causing minor injuries.

Alkhamisy was taken to the adult detention center and charged with assault on law enforcement, drunk in public, and disorderly conduct, according to police. He was then held without bond.

Both Reyes Gonzalez and Alkhamisy were arraigned on Monday morning in Fairfax County General District Court and have a bond hearing scheduled for 8:31 a.m. on Tuesday, according to court records. Alkhamisy’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2026, while Reyes Gonzalez’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Jan. 12, 2026.

The assault on law enforcement officer charges are Class 6 felonies, which carry a potential sentence of one to five years in prison, a jail term of up to 12 months, a fine of up to $2,500, and the loss of civil rights such as voting or firearm ownership, under the Code of Virginia.
